Mrs. Lee has studied with:
Carolyn Wadman School of Dance, Mary Knight School of Dance, Sacramento School of Ballet (scholarship), Mendocino Ballet School, Santa Rosa Ballet School, Ballet En Ronde, Marin Ballet School, Long Beach Ballet School, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Jimmy Defore Dance Center, Houston Met Dance Center, Marin Dance Theatre, ODC Dance Commons, Alonzo King Lines Ballet.
Mrs. Tammie Lee was raised in Willits, CA, where she started taking gymnastics at 7 years old. She began her dance training at the age of twelve, focusing primarily on ballet. She became one of the founding members of Mendocino Ballet Company at the age of fourteen, under the direction of Mary Knight. As a Principal dancer, she danced many lead roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Pictures at an Exhibition, La Boutique Fantasque, and a soloist in many modern & contemporary works.
In her late teens, Mrs. Lee joined Santa Rosa Ballet, dancing with the company for 2 years before joining Marin Ballet and participating in their Summer Intensive Programs. After moving to Southern California, Mrs. Lee continued her education at Orange Coast College with a focus on Ballet, modern dance, and choreography. She studied ballet under Karen Shanley and contemporary and modern dance under Linda Sohl-Donnell, receiving two scholarships in Choreography.
In 2003, the couple returned to California, settling in Murphys, where they opened Family 4 Fitness Inc. in 2004. The following year, Mrs. Lee founded Studio 4 School of Dance, which initially began with just two students. Today, the studio proudly serves over 100 students.
In 2008, Tammie Lee founded Studio 4 Dance Theater, a non-profit dance company, where she serves as President, Artistic Director, and choreographer. Over the years, Tammie has directed and choreographed a variety of performances, including the full-length ballet The Nutcracker from 2009 to 2019. Her previous works include Alice’s Adventures, Peter and the Wolf, Sleeping Beauty’s Wedding, Pictures at an Exhibition, Don Quixote, Carnival of Animals, and over 50 contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and ballet pieces.
Currently, Studio 4 Dance Theater performs the Holiday Showcase annually, which features a unique blend of holiday classics and beloved Nutcracker pieces, along with the Spring Showcase.
